When a tooth is missing the remaining teeth can drift out of position which can change the bite, lead to a loss of additional teeth, decay and gum disease. Dr. Kromhout may suggest the placement of a bridge to prevent these problems. A bridge can replace one or more teeth and is anchored by crowns on each side. This is fixed in the mouth and is not removable.
